- 61% of the AFC East bets at DraftKings have been placed on the Buffalo Bills.
- The Bills are the -155 betting favorite to win the division for the second straight campaign.
- Buffalo was three quarters away from an appearance at Super Bowl LV last season.
Bettors at online sportsbook DraftKings have been hammering the Buffalo Bills’ divisional odds.
According to the said bookmaker, Buffalo has accounted for 61% of their AFC East bets. The New England Patriots, who recently announced their QB1, are second with 20% of the total wagers while the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have 12% and 4% of the AFC East betting pie.
The betting action on the Bills is expected though as Buffalo is currently a -155 favorite to win the AFC East at the BetOnline App. The Bills are also just a +225 to finish second, +575 to finish third, and a longshot +1800 to finish at the bottom of their division this season. If you talk about betting odds, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Newton’s Release Has Not Changed Patriots’ Odds
Newton’s release has not really changed the #Patriots‘ #odds to win the AFC East: (BetOnline)
Buffalo Bills -155
New England Patriots +325
Miami Dolphins +375
New York Jets +1800#sportsbetting #gamblingtwitter #NFL #NFLtwitter— Odds Shark (@OddsShark) September 1, 2021
Not much has changed in the AFC East since the early conference betting lines were released. Perhaps the biggest news since the lines opened was New England releasing Cam Newton and naming rookie Mac Jones as starter. While that move may be franchising altering for New England, it has not changed the Patriots’ odds.
Buffalo is still the odds on favorite to win the division at +155. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins are second at +325 and the Patriots are third at +275. The New Yok Jets are in the bottom of the AFC East odds board at +1800. This is the same order that these teams finished in the division during the 2020 season.
The Bills went 13-3 last season and they are a -375 betting favorite to win 10-14 games this season. The Dolphins, Patriots, and Jets are all favored to win 5-9 games this season at odds of -150, -120, and -275, respectively.
Bill Primed to Repeat as AFC East Champs
AFC East Preview: Bills prime to repeat as division champs as rivals re-tool or re-build https://t.co/sRLCTINoin

Last season, the Bills won the AFC East for the first time since 1995. They proceeded to beat the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs. With the team just three quarters away from a Super Bowl appearance, management decided to keep majority of the roster intact and they secured Josh Allen via a long-term deal.
The Dolphins’ defense was outstanding last season behind Xavien Howard. But Miami’s interest in Deshaun Watson tells us that the team may not yet be 100% sold on Tua Tagovailoa, at least not yet. New England is sure about Mac Jones as they let Cam Newton walk away and the Jets head to the season hoping that Zach Wilson is the franchise QB they have been waiting for so long.
With their rivals either rebuilding or retooling, the AFC East is there for the Bills to lose. Given the offseason moves in the division, Buffalo is primed to top the division once again. Whether they will be good enough to get over the hump remains to be seen but as far as the divisional title is concerned, both oddsmakers and experts think it’s a lock and that’s the reason why bettors are putting the Bills on their betting slips.
