I was sure we were going to see Astralis vs. BIG go up against each other at least once here in group A of 2021 BLAST Premier Spring season… however, I thought it’d be in the upper bracket and/or the grand finals. Little did I know we’re going to see them fight for a spot in the Spring Finals. But here we are, boys and girls, one of these two European giants are going to have to suffer through the Spring Showdown in April… and our Astralis vs. BIG picks will try and predict who’s it going to be!
Day 2 is done and dusted, and we have 3 teams left in Group 1!@BIGCLANgg and @AstralisCS face each other first tomorrow to see which of them gets to play against the final boss @NIPGaming again ?#BLASTPremier pic.twitter.com/488NDmfRcA

Momentum means a lot in matches like these, and CSGO betting enthusiasts will surely recognize the complexity of this one. There’s everything to play for here, for both teams – Spring Finals are on the line. Our Astralis vs. BIG predictions will have to dig deeper than ever to try and find the ticket-winning info.
Astralis vs. BIG Betting Predictions
Astralis and BIG played just twice last year. Both matches were in December, and both snatched a win to their tally. Both matches finished in 2:0 fashion, but they were tightly contested, prompting a different result this time around.
Expectations
Expectations are clear-cut on both ends of the playing field. Astralis fancy their chances of going through following a slip-up against NiP in the opening round. But, the Germans expect the same, with the only difference being that their slip-up happened in the second round.
On paper, Astralis is the slight favorite coming into this one. The Great Danes finished the year off with style and losing to NiP was probably the biggest upset that happened to them in quite a while.
BIG, on the other hand, are still trying to find the long-lost form that carried them to immense heights last summer. Their roster has remained the same, syrsoN is still in excellent form, but the results just aren’t coming. A win against Astralis and a direct qualification for the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Finals will be a great step in the right direction, no question about it!
Map Depth
Map stats always add more depth and complexity to a match discussion, which is why our Astralis vs. BIG predictions can’t end without a closer look. Statistically, Astralis should be able to take Dust 2, Train, and Overpass. The Great Danes are above 70% on Dust 2 and Inferno, whereas they’re just above 50% on Overpass, which is still more than double BIG’s percentage (throughout the last three months).
The Germans have been superb on Mirage, and Vertigo, though Astralis isn’t exactly bad on the skyscraper-extravaganza map either. Nuke statistically goes in favor of syrsoN and the boys, but it’s going to be a tough contest since Astralis are on the other end. Remember, Nuke was Astralis’ fortress back in their glory days… can they bring back old memories and snatch Nuke against BIG in the decider map?
Roster Qualities
As mentioned earlier, syrsoN is by far the best player in this BIG roster! He’s been their catalyst for far too long, hard-carrying through their summer trophies and establishing himself as one of the best CSGO players in the world. He needs his teammates, though. He needs XANTARES and K1to (and others) to step up to the challenge every now and then. BIG’s story is starting to look much like Vitality’s 2019 when ZywOo was stringing together one brilliant performance after another, with his teammates dragging Vitality’s results down to the dirt.
What about Astralis?
Well, I reckon there’s not really much to be said about them. I’ve already mentioned their end-of-2020 results – they were the fruit of a teamwork-based and highly disciplined gameplay, just like we’ve come to expect from the best Scandinavian team out there. Dev1ce is still the number one player on the roster, though his individual brilliance is not standing that much out with his teammates stepping up to the occasion more often than not.
Astralis vs. BIG Picks
Of course, match-winner on Astralis at -286 is what most people are going to go with here. And I can’t really say anything bad about that one, except that the above-featured correct score wager offers much more value. Sure, the risk is there, as is the case with every other correct score wager you can think of… but if you’re looking for heftier returns, that’s the bet you should invest in. Why do I believe BIG will take a map off Astralis?
Well, not only have they put up a better fight against NiP (especially on Overpass), but they’re also very strong on Mirage and Vertigo. They can easily contest Astralis on more than two maps which is a pretty admirable feat.
Pick: Astralis to Win 2:1
Odds: +180
$100 Could Win You…$280.00
I don’t think BIG can go all the way, though. They’re going to be a tough team to beat, a tough contestant to control… but Astralis should take the W following a cruise on the decider map.
