What Is The Most Successful Roulette Strategy?

If you’re familiar with our website, you know there’s only a few roulette strategies that work. And by saying “work”, I mean strategies that are profitable even in the long-term.

If your definition of a “working system” is one that wins for a bit then loses, then any system can “work”. Anything can happen in the short term.

If you’re looking for a helpful roulette overview covering the basics, this is the wrong page. This page is more for players who already understand the basics. But I’ll still give an outline of what makes a roulette strategy successful or not.

You Must Change The Chances of Winning

Almost every roulette strategy loses because it doesn’t change the odds of winning. The odds are essentially the chances of winning any particular bet. So if you bet a single number on the European wheel, you have a one in 37 chance of winning. That’s because there are 37 pockets.

Most roulette systems don’t even consider the odds. It might sound outrageous and against all logic, and it is. But most players have no idea what they are doing.

A classic example of a bad system is the Martingale. This is a strategy where you double bets after losses, in attempt to win back losses. It doesn’t work because each spin is completely independent. So even when you bet a larger amount, all you do is change the amount you risk on an independent spin.

Which Strategies Work?

Our website already ranks the top five roulette systems, with regards to “effectiveness”. A summary is below:

1. Roulette computers: Hidden electronic devices that measure the speed of the wheel and ball to predict winning numbers.
2. Cross referencing physics system: This system is based on physics, which also focuses on predicting where the ball will land.
3. Visual ballistics: Otherwise known as VB, visual ballistics attempts to replicate roulette computers, without using computers. Instead of computers, you use your eyesight. It’s not as difficult as it first sounds, although you need a suitable wheel.
4. Dealer signature: Some dealers tend to spin the wheel and ball at consistent speeds. This combined with physical anomalies on real wheels can make roulette spins predictable. Dealer signature is essentially profiling dealers, and exploiting predictable patterns.
5. Bias analysis: Roulette wheels are not the perfect technology you might assume. Every wheel has slight flaws that make spins more predictable than random. However, rarely do modern wheels have flaws that are large enough for a workable edge.

Again this list ranks the most effective strategies. But not necessarily which have won the most.

Besides the above strategies, there is no known effective way to beat roulette. Of course this excludes lucky wins, which can occur over even years of play. In the videos on our homepage, you can see proven losing systems winning over even tens of thousands of spins. This is still short term play. So winning over a year or so does not necessarily mean the system is genuinely effective.

Which Strategy Has Won The Most?

You might naturally assume the roulette computers have won the most. After all, they are far more effective than any other strategy.

But based on information from thousands of players we have worked with, the strategy that has won the overall most is the cross-referencing system. This is because it is practical in a wider range of casino conditions, and it’s legal everywhere. Roulette computers are legal in only about half of casinos. But legal or not, no casino will tolerate their use.

A very close second is visual ballistics. This strategy takes some skill and practice, but it’s legal everywhere. So it is significantly more popular and widely used than roulette computers.

Keep in mind the cross-referencing system includes elements of visual ballistics, so the two have correlations. You could say the cross-referencing system is one step up from visual ballistics, but still nowhere near as effective as roulette computers.

Aren’t There Other Systems That Work?

There may be other effective systems in the future. But at least for now, the above list is all there is. I’m well aware many people will dispute this. I very frequently receive emails from people who claim they beat roulette. And when they reveal their system to me, it’s nothing more than typical gambler’s fallacy.

When I tell these players their winnings are mere luck, I tend to get attacked. They take it personally.

It might help for me to explain how I viewed roulette over 20 years ago.

I have tried many different systems. Many won for a while, and eventually lost. I assumed I only needed to tweak some strategy rules. The reality was the system never worked in the first place.

I eventually developed a system that kept me winning for about a year. I naturally assumed it was fantastic, and I had finally beaten roulette. The reality was my wins were mere luck. And my luck lasted a whole year. This was only around 5000 spins. And 5000 spins is really very few. It’s still short-term.

My point is nobody could tell me the results were just luck. I defended my system fiercely. After all, I had the winnings to back me up. As the old saying goes: money talks.

But like most strategies, I eventually started to lose. Instead of considering maybe the system didn’t work, I preferred thinking the casino changed something. And this is what many players think when they begin to lose. Again the reality is the strategy never worked in the first place. I eventually learned my lesson, but only with proper testing.
