In a race where plenty of horses are exposed, i think it’ll pay to side with the lightly raced and unexposed LADY LINGO, who has the superb Rachel Blackmore on her back.
She’s run in some above average maiden hurdles and managed to finish third at Thurles in October. The horse who was second that day runs in a much better race this weekend, too. The way she stays on well at the end of her races suggest this step up in trip would suit her and I expect her to go well off her mark of 105.

The Peterborough Chase is as good a renewal as I can remember. It’s great to see that race be supported so well. MISTER FISHER has to point a disappointing comeback run at Cheltenham behind him, but he’s the most talented horse in the field, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him bounce back to form.
Al Dancer hasn’t delivered it on the biggest days yet and he may again find one horse too good for him. With Venetia Williams’ yard in great form, her horse Fanion D’Estruval could come forward from his recent second at Cheltenham.

ROWLAND WARD ran in some very good races a juvenile last season and on the best of his form, he could still be well handicapped off a mark of 129.
He ran here on his comeback and he was kept out the back before he stayed on well, but it was too little, too late as he could only finish third. I think he’ll be ridden more prominently this time.
Magic Dancer is also worth keeping an eye-on. He finished second in this race last year and looks primed to go well again.

The Scottish Borders National is a staying chase over an extended 4m. Last year’s winner BIGIRONONHISHIP is bidding to become the third successive back-to-back winner of this race.
He was a good second on his seasonal return with this race no doubt being his big target for the season. Rose Dobbin’s team have been in great form since the start of the season too.
Sam Thomas’ yard has also been flying of late and he saddles the lightly raced Iwilldoit, who is taking this marathon trip in for the first time. We haven’t seen the best of him in regard to his ability but if he does stay, he could well be in the thick of things.
